The Liebster Award x2

I’ve mentioned a couple of times that I never really expected to get any of these award thingies, and I think they’re cool. For those of you who don’t know, these “awards” are a kind of tag battle to help bloggers get to know each other and spread the blogging cheer. The point is to help potential readers discover blogs that they may like by a random act of kindness- so a nomination is usually the same thing as receiving the awards, but the Liebster is a little different. For the Liebster Award competition, to get it you have to submit it here where a randomly selected winner gets an actual prize. So there are winners, and then there’s the randomly selected uberwinners. I’ll stick with just being Alexander…

So to that end, I would like to thank Newblogger 20 and Nour Lee for nominating me for the Liebster Award!

Eac Liebster Award’s rules:

  • Give thanks
  • Display the award and the rules because it’s the law
  • Answer all the Questions you were asked
  • Create 6 more questions
  • Nominate 5 bloggers who have less than 200 followers each
  • submit to the overlords on this page

But I was asked more than 6 questions, and I think I ought to nominate 10 bloggers. So this will be fun.

My Questions from Newblogger20 were:

If you had 1 million pounds (or whatever your currency is ), what would you do with it?

Hmm, 1 million pounds is about $1.3 million so I would split it this way:
First I’d calculate how much taxes I’d have to pay for suddenly receiving $1.3 million- I’d set that aside for the next quarter. Off the bat I’d find a scientific study worthy enough and donate $100,000, then I would donate $200,000 respectively to SUNY Potsdam and Binghamton University, but only for their programs that I took. Then I’d pay off all of my student loans, buy a Tesla, put 30% of what’s left in savings and the stock market, and take Moose on a trip around the world with the rest. I’d write about all of my adventures and share them with everybody.

If you could have one wish, what would it be?

To take the most joy I can get out of life.

Cats or dogs?

Why did you start blogging?

Well I really only wanted an author page for short stories and it kind of… turned into this…

Is Trump good or bad? (In your opinion)

He simply does what’s in his nature, it’s not his fault that such a nature is contrary to global progress, economic sensibility, and the general well-being of the world.

Most embarrassing moment?

I’ve had plenty, but the most appropriate would be farting while doing pull-ups in ninth grade surrounded by an entire gym class of some of the most attractive people I knew at the time. Was a good laugh then, still a pretty good laugh now.

Now, Nour Lee received a telephoned version of the Liebster award, with different rules- so she aksed me 11 questions! In the interest of time I’m going to choose the 6 with the best answers (sorry!).

My Questions from Nour Lee were:

Nice male and female names?

Male: Licifer- It’s Latin for lightbringer and is hands down one of the most beautiful male names I can think of.
Female: I have a couple… Macey (gift from heaven), Aphrodite (super sexy), Sakura (cherry blossom), Yuki (snow), Maya, and River

Something facisnating?

You, right now, are made up of atoms that were cooked in the centers of stars billions of years ago and exploded out into the universe until eventually, about 4 billion years ago converging on earth to be recycled a near infinite amount of times through the course of evolutionary natural selection and the ever changing chaos of our world to eventually reside, for a short while in you- one among 7 or so billion beings that can contemplate not only how to use a microwave but the very origins of the material that they themselves are made up of. You are a computer better than any computer we can create and everything you touch is an ancient vestige of an unexplorable past, yet all of it is forever changed by your presence.

If you don’t find that fascinating then you have an interesting life that I wanna hear about.

4 words to describe death

The end of everything.

4 words to describe life

All we’ll ever get.

Lone child or do you have siblings?

I have 3 half brothers, 3 half sisters, a step brother and step sister, and a sister and (soon) brother in law.

Favoured nickname of yours?

I have many, but often they revolve around trees and bears. Lately people have taken to Xander Bear and Bjørn. In Chinese I am called 木灵, and I am convinced that when I have kids they will call me Papa Bear.

My Questions for nominees:

  1. If you could Change one thing about the world, what would you change and why?
  2. When was the first time you felt happy to be alive?
  3. How do you feel when you hear a child laugh?
  4. What do you hope to do before you die?
  5. If you could change that one thing about yourself that you’ve always wanted to change, would anyone notice?
  6. If you could be born in any period of history, but you couldn’t choose your wealth, race, or social status, when would you want to be born and why?

So there you have it- go off and… Oh I’m supposed to grab people off the interstreet…

So to the following ten bloggers, I think you are awesome people who deserve the recognition from someone who could be more helpful than me. Can’t wait to see your responses!

The following Blogs are now nominated for the Liebster Award:

In Mind and Out

Voyage of Happiness

Real Thoughts Blog

Growing Up Sideways

Two Buddhas in Conversation

Iter Per Litterās

Constant variable

The Diogenes Blog

So there you have it! I have a lot of catch up to do with all the posts I’ve missed over the past three weeks, so I’ll see you in the readerfeed and in the comments.

Keep writing, my friends!

  1. I loved your answers, especially to the ‘fascinsting facts’ part… It’s funny that with such a small chance that any of us actually exist, we don’t just walk around congratulating each other and talking about it all day….

Thank you again for nominating me my friend! I think I said before, I will try and do it, honestly though, I always freeze when I try to think of how I’d answer the questions!!

    1. The questions are the most fun part!!

Thank you for reading. I agree with you about the congratulating thing. On birthdays Moose always says “Congratulations for surviving another revolution around their Sun” and that somehow makes it so much cooler to exist to me.

      1. Moose knows how to say the best happy birthday ever! That should be on a card – abk store? Happy everything, well, you know how I feel about that catch phrase too!

Tell me what you think!
